Sponsor and/or Exhibit at the 2012 Arkansas Association for Food Protection Educational Conference

The Arkansas Association for Food Protection is pleased to provide your company the opportunity to occupy a vendor’s booth at our annual educational conference to be held Sept. 11-12, 2012, at the University of Arkansas Global Campus building on the downtown Fayetteville square.

The Arkansas chapter is rare in that we have the world’s largest retailer/grocer, the largest meat company, and leading distribution/refrigerated transport companies headquartered within our state.  We have numerous food processors located around the state ranging from prepared meals, canned foods, frozen foods, juices, wine, etc.   We have nationally prominent schools of agriculture and business, as well as the UofA’s nationally recognized Center for Food Safety to support Arkansas’ farm to fork supply chain.

This year’s meeting will feature several speakers on prevention and control of pathogens within the supply chain.   Arkansas epitomizes the “farm to fork” supply chain concept; and it touches every part of the United States through our growers, processors, distribution and our retail companies.

Our conference, now in its fourth year, attracts more than 100 prominent food safety professionals from academic institutions, industry and government agencies; which will give you access to influential industry discussions.

The program details are still being developed and will be announced soon, but we plan to have several speakers discussing food safety and processing topics such as traceability, the Food Safety Modernization Act, labeling, employee training and other subjects. See our coverage of last year’s conference on our website at http://arkafp.org/preview.aspx.

Exhibit space of 8 by 6 feet is available at the rate of $150. Vendors may set up their booths at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 11 and should dismantle them by 5 p.m. Sept. 12.

In addition to offering exhibit space, AAFP is providing opportunities to serve as sponsors of our conference. We offer gold, silver and bronze sponsorship levels at the respective rates of $1,000, $750 and $500. (See below for a list of benefits that sponsors receive.)  Sponsorship opportunities are also available to support the awards that AAFP presents to AAFP graduate and undergraduate student members in the research poster competition that is held in conjunction with the annual conference and that attracts 20 to 25 entries from University of Arkansas students. We present awards to the top three poster lead authors in this competition with prizes at a level of your choice. Vendors will have the chance to personally present the awards at the ceremony, which we will publicize through our communications resources.

We are prepared to answer any questions you may have about our plans for this fall and how we may accommodate you should you decide to participate in our event. To discuss matters further with us, please contact Dave Edmark at dedmark@uark.edu.
